The Rebischke Family Picture

I am going to try to identify the Rebischke family in this photo. I may or may not be wrong. However, I do know that Albert and Albertina (mother) are in the front row. I believe starting left to right in the back row are Elsie, Olga, Ida and Emma Rebischke. Let me know if I am wrong on this. This picture obviously was taken after their father and husband, Albert, had died.
I have been informed by my all-wise sister that I do, indeed, have the names of the back row wrong: they are (left to right) Elsie, Emma, Ida and my grandmother, Olga. Thank you, Kathi, for setting me straight on this.

Death of My Great Grandfather

In one of these obituaries, it states he had a brother in OtterTail County in Minnesota. I am not sure who that is though it might be his brother, Herman Gustav. Anyone out there who can help me on this?
I am unaware of any of the 8 stepbrothers and 2 stepsisters who lived in Germany and who were still living at the time of his death. I have not investigated this aspect of his family but hope to do so in the future. However, his father, Carl, was still a young man, in his 40's when his mother, Susanne, died, so it is possible his father had more children or he married a second time and she had children.
I am aware of a brother, Herman, and a sister, Amalie, and a half brother, Carl Julius. Both Carl Julius and Amalie died within 2 years of their births.

Marriage Of My Great Grandparents

Marriage record of Friedrich Carl Albert Rebischke and Albertina Johani Wilhelmine Zink (Zenk) on January 10, 1886 in Young America, Carver County, Minnesota. As you can see on this document, his name is written as"Albert", not his given name at birth.

Naturalization Of My Great Grandfather

My great grandfather immigated to the United States from Germany on May 15, 1884.

Life Of Friedrich Carl Albert Rebischke

These are birth records of my great grandfather, Albert. The first two are from church records in Germany. The last two are papers I received from others and I was fortunate to be able to find a friend who was able to read the old German version of the language, who was able to translate the paper possibly written by my great grandfather.

Friedrich Carl Albert Rebischke Family

Friedrich Carl Albert Rebischke

Friedrich Carl Albert was known as "Albert" most of his life. He was born on October 10 1858, in Gross Lipschin, West Prussia, Germany. I believe that area is now a part of Poland. He was married to Albertina Zink on January 10, 1886 in Young America, Carver County, Minnesota and died on May 20, 1906 in Young America, Carver County, Minnesota. He left behind 5 children.

Olga Rebiscke and James Durose, Grandparents On Their Wedding Day

This is a picture of my grandparents wedding day on May 24, 1910. I am putting this on both the Rebischke blog and on the Durose blog because of the relationship to both. They were married until James' death in September, 1973. Olga died on my grandfather's birthday July 20, 1980. What a gift she gave him to be reunited with him on his birthday!!
